Keyboard and Mouse Controls

This list describes keyboard and mouse controls for use primarily with the Detail Pane; it does not include "hot keys" for selecting commands on the Command Pane.

No units selected, cursor over structure or vehicle

Show rollover text for item under cursor

Left-click on a structure or vehicle

Select that structure or vehicle and show its Status display in the Command Pane

Right-click

De-select any selected structure or vehicle(s)

<Spacebar>

Center the Detail Pane on the location of the most recent Savant voice message on which you may take action.

<H>

Home on unit - center the Detail Pane on the currently selected structure or vehicle(s)

<Home>

Home on colony - center the Detail Pane on the lowest-numbered Command Center in your colony

<Tab>

Select the next structure or vehicle

<Shift+Tab>

Select the previous structure or vehicle

<Ctrl+P> or <Pause>

Toggle Pause on or off

<Ctrl+S>

Display the Save Game dialog box

<Ctrl+L>

Display the Load Game dialog box

<Ctrl+1> through <Ctrl+9>

Bookmark selected vehicle or group of vehicles

<1> through <9>

Select a bookmarked group of vehicles and center the Detail Pane on them

<Shift+1> through <Shift+9>

Select a bookmarked group of vehicles, but do not center the Detail Pane on them

<Ctrl+F5> through <Ctrl+F12>

Bookmark location in Detail Pane

<F5> through <F12>

Center the Detail Pane on a bookmarked location

<Ctrl> + left-click

Set waypoint

Left-click with a vehicle selected

Default command for vehicle (usually "Move")

<Backspace>

Select last selected structure or vehicle that is still available

<Alt-F4>

Exits Outpost 2

Shows Factories report in Command Pane

<L>

Shows Labs report in Command Pane

<R>

Shows Resources Summary report in Command Pane

<C>

Shows Communications log in Command Pane

<P>

Shows Space Program report in Command Pane

<G>

Shows Game Options menu in Command Pane

<Alt+C>

Shows Colonists report in Command Pane

<Alt+M>

Shows Morale report in Command Pane

<Alt+F>

Shows Food report in Command Pane

Shows Power report in Command Pane

<Alt+N>

Shows Common Metals report in Command Pane

<Alt+R>

Shows Rare Metals report in Command Pane

Shows Mission Objectives in Command Pane

<Alt+A>

Sets Chat Messages to be sent only to players to whom you are allied. (Multiplayer only)

<Alt+E>

Sets Chat Messages to go to everyone. (Multiplayer only)

<Alt+V>

Shows Vehicle List in the Command Pane (only available if you have a Robot Command Center)
