What is OPUTool?
OPUTool is a project dedicated to the enhancement of the OUTPOST Online Experience provided by the Outpost Universe. Originally started by Leviathan (current OPU Moderator/Owner), the project has been continued by Leeor Dicker (OUTPOST: Missing In Action/Outpost 3: Genesis developer) with future plans of either emulating or replacing the SIGS/WON features of Outpost 2.
What does this mean to you as a user?
OPUTool was designed with a 'one-stop shop for complete and easy access to the OPU Online Experience' in mind. With many fan-based projects as well as an extensive forum and many online resources, it can be cumbersome to manage all the web resources that can be found on OPU.
OPUTool offers an easy interface to the OPU Web Page as well as the ability to quickly launch OUTPOST, Outpost 2, an external IRC client, Hamachi and OP2Mapper with plans for future expansion and inclusion of other software. OPUTool also includes the WorldMap, a map of the world showing the locations of various OPU Users.
Additionally, work has been done in an attempt to understand the intricate nature of the original SIGS/WON software integrated into Outpost 2. While a new SIGS/WON server may never be set up, OPUTool has begun to develop a new internet gaming protocol that will be used by both OUTPOST: Missing in Action as well as Outpost 3: Genesis that will hopefully allow for users around the globe to interact with each other. If the Outpost 2 integrated SIGS/WON software can be successfully deciphered the new protocol will host emulation for Outpost 2 as well.

Known Issues
Phantom WorldMap Pins: This is an issue with the underlying code and is being adressed. There is no need to report Phantom Pins as the User List is frequently reviewed and cleaned.
