Boptronic

'Boptronics' referes to hybrid devices and systems which use eletronic, biological and optical components.

Savant Series Computers and the on-board equipment on our land vehicles use Boptronic equipment.

Through the use of protien cores, these systems are able to store information that far surpases any other storage mediums in use today. Theoretically, computers based upon protein cores would be better able to adapt to changing variables in environment and combat. Also, protien cores are far superior in their ability to withstand shocks and jarring typically associated with rough handling of equipment, space travel and combat units.

Unfortunatly, due to the advent of the Blight on New Terra, vehicles and Savant Series computers infected with the blight are no longer able to function or respond properly and view any movement as threatening. Exactly what happened to the Savant Series computers after being infected with the Blight microbe is a mystery but it is assumed that if they are indeed still operating are probably behaving similarly to the many rogue vehicles wandering New Terra's surface.
